Breakwater Island Casino Community Benefit Fund
The Breakwater Island Casino Community Benefit Fund was established in 1987 by the Queensland Government to allocate grants to non-profit community organisations in North Queensland that provide facilities or services to the community at large.
The fund is responsible for recommending to the Minister the disbursement of monies received from a 1% levy on the gross gaming revenue of Jupiters Casino in Townsville.
Each year the fund allocates hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and community groups. Projects funded are as diverse as providing sun safety equipment for educational and sporting organisations to supplying technology and communication equipment.
Visit the Breakwater Island Casino Community Benefit Fund for more information, including application guidelines.
