Jupiters constructs stage amid plans for more entertainment in 2013
THREE days of non-stop entertainment is scheduled for Jupiters this Australia Day long weekend with top Australian acts set to take to the stage.
Jupiters will cater for a wide 18+ demographic with the Glenn Shorrock concert on Friday 25th, Reclining Rockers on Saturday 26th and a pool party for the younger generation on Sunday 27th leading into the public holiday on Monday 28th.
Chief Operating Officer Will Keiler said the Australia Day long weekend of entertainment would kick off what is expected to be a big year of entertainment at Jupiters in 2013.
“Popular Townsville band the Rockers will be the first to utilise the brand-new stage that we’ve just finished constructing by the pool. We saw a gap in the market for live outdoor entertainment and with the new stage we will be able to hold a lot more outdoor events.’’
Mr Keiler said the 9m x 7m stage featured LED lighting and would soon also be protected by waterproof shading.
The second group to use the stage will be pool-party headliners and Aussie electro-pop group Bombs Away - famous for their hits ‘Supersoaker’ and more recently for their current chart-topper ‘Party Bass’.
“It will be another Vegas-style poolside concert with a general admission and VIP area and there will be a large marquee set up for added shading,” Mr Keiler said.
“We’re envisaging that guests will once again turn up in their favourite bikinis and boardies for an afternoon of non-stop entertainment.”
Other entertainment that has been confirmed at Jupiters for 2013 include the Creedence Clearwater Recycled dinner and show on Saturday 23 February, Australian Swimsuit Model of the Year competition that will run every Friday in February from the 8th-22nd and Manpower on Saturday 23 March.
At least three other acts are currently in negotiation with announcements expected to be made in the coming weeks.
Entry to the Reclining Rockers concert is free and tickets to the Glenn Shorrock concert are on sale now.
Tickets to the pool party will go on sale in the coming days.
