Cowboys clash in inaugural casino charity ball pass challenge
IT will be a battle of the ball pass when 10 North Queensland Toyota Cowboys players go head-to-head with Casino patrons in a ball throwing charity challenge at Jupiters on Wednesday.
What was formerly an annual charity poker tournament has been reinvented and is set to draw plenty of hype as Jupiters customers compete against some of Rugby League’s best.
Jupiters Chief Operating Officer Will Keiler said he was looking forward to hosting the new tournament.
“Jupiters has been a part of the Cowboys team for 13 years now and we thought it was time to mix it up a little with the new Casino Charity Pass Off,” Will said.
“It will be interesting to see our patrons give the Cowboys’ a run for their money when it comes to doing something that the players do for a living.”
The Casino Charity Pass Off will see 10 Cowboys players and 10 Casino patrons toss as many balls as possible in 30 seconds through a target.
“The winner, either a Cowboys player or a casino patron, will be the person who manages to successfully get as many balls through the hole in that time frame as possible,” Will said.
“We understand that the Cowboys may have a slight advantage, so in order to make the competition fair, the players will have a target that is further away than our members.”
The Casino Charity Pass Off winner will be given the opportunity to donate $500 cash on behalf of Jupiters to a charity of their choice.
Ten Cowboys players including Glenn Hall, Kyle Feldt, Lachlan Coote, Robert Lui, Anthony Mitchell, Michael Morgan, Tariq Sims, Jason Taumalolo, Wayne Ulugia and Jupiters player ambassador Matthew Scott will take part in the inaugural Jupiters Casino Charity Pass Off in Ballroom 1 at Jupiters on Wednesday from 7.00pm.
